Victorian Corset

This is the victorian corset I made in my first corset workshop with Paula Trimpey at Albright College. I'm so grateful for the opportunity. I learned so many corsetry techniques in this workshop. It was especially interesting because I had just made a corset for the show I was assistant costume designing at West Chester University, Ghosts. Since I made that corset just based off of a generic corset pattern, going into this workshop I was excited to see if that corset held up to a properly built victorian corset. The differences between the two were huge, especially in terms of structure and support. I really enjoyed finding out how many things I did correctly when making the corset for Ghosts and how many things I had done incorrectly under the guidance of the pattern I used.

I learned so much in this workshop and am incredibly grateful for being invited to attend it. Now I can say that I can make a corset in a day.
